CRIMINAL 011 REBEKAH - FREAKONOMICS http://www.criminal-records.de/?p=13 http://www.criminal-records.de/?p=13#comments Tue, 08 Apr 2008 20:17:33 +0000 admin http://www.criminal-records.de/?p=13 A: FREAKONOMICS

B: NEO

Rebekah’s second instalment on Criminal Records is a 2 track EP. Moving flawlessly into techno with 2 beautifully crafted pieces, Freakonomics is a deep work out of sub heavy bongos, a haunting melodic synth line and stripped riding percussion with layers of effects building into an atmospheric breakdown. Neo is more up-tempo with shuffling percussion and rolling bass that leads into  deep rich synth stabs. Radio 1 was quick to pick up Neo airing it on Mistress de Funk’s Residency show last week and both tracks are gaining huge support from the likes of Funk D’Void, Greg Vickers, Mark Knight and Yousef.

CRIMINAL 008 ALEXANDER MAIER - INO http://www.criminal-records.de/?p=10 http://www.criminal-records.de/?p=10#comments Tue, 08 Apr 2008 20:13:23 +0000 admin http://www.criminal-records.de/?p=10 A: INO

B: INO / SIAN REMIX

The Criminals welcome Alexander Maier to their roster with his stunning track “Ino”, which comes with a equally strong remix by Sian (Pokerflat, Dessous) on the B-Side! Alexander Maier aka DJ All*Star has previously released on Exun Records and has remixed artists like Phonique, Kris Menace, etc. and is also part of Kleinkariert. His releases are supported by Carl Craig, David Duriez, Fafa Monteco, Phonique to name only a few.Alexander Maier returns on Criminal with a stunning, a little bit trance influenced, track with beautiful harmonies and melodies. A throbbing, undefined and sexy bassmelody accompanies the beautiful pads throughout the journey. We know it’s not the typical criminal sound you are used to, but we had to get our hands on this track as it is simply wonderful! And since we are releasing an EP by Sian next year, we thought it’d be a nice introduction to criminal to have Sian remix “Ino”. His remix catches a similar vibe to the original, but features more progressive synths and sounds. But hey… have a listen yourself and you’ll understand what we’re talking about!Today Alexander belongs to one of the most popular and (inter-)national booked djs of stuttgarts minimal-, tech- & electrohouse-scene. I’m sure the usual suspects will dig this release…

B1: EHOUSE

B2: ELOVE

Criminal Records welcome Nürnberg-based artist Homebase, who recently had a massive release out on waskids named “Centrino EP” and was played & charted by the likes of Kiki, Funk D’Void, John Aquaviva, Digitalism, and many more… Now Recordstoreowner (Beatwax), producer and partypromoter Homebase comes back with a ridiculously mad EP called simply “e”! The EP has 2 tracks on each side, which starts off on A1 with eWave! When G.DIGGER first played us “eWave”, we were instantly taking off our pants, dropping pills and acid again.. dancing naked in our studio.. hugging each other.. dude, it was such a rave!! We knew then that we had to bring this record out on criminal! I could talk bla bla bla about this release.. that it is soooo great, that Digitalism open many of their DJ-Sets with eWave, that John Aquaviva wanted to have it right away when we just signed it, that Kiki, Martin Eyerer, Funk D’Void, Scratch Massive, are playing it, etc… who cares about all that jazz anyway? So sit back, relax and let yourself and see for yourself what masterpiece Mr. M. Dauphin has come up with!

CRIMINAL 006 FANCLUB FEAT. VENDI - GLADIATOR http://www.criminal-records.de/?p=8 http://www.criminal-records.de/?p=8#comments Tue, 08 Apr 2008 20:12:20 +0000 admin http://www.criminal-records.de/?p=8 A: GLADIATOR

A: GLADIATOR / DAVE DK PARIS REMIX

Criminal Records artists Fanclub strike back with “Gladiator” featuring Dialect artists Ludovic Vendi ! The Original Mix is stripped back to a straight groove consisting of a massive bassline and a synthline, which surely leaves bodies sweating on the dancefloor! French Gigolo Ludovic delivers some really funky englisch vocals.. I’m sure he doesn’t even know what he’s really saying (“I must to go in Paris! I must organize myself! To arrange my clothes and my discs, and I hope that I’ll not miss the plane”) ??? Well, we all had a major laugh when we heard the vocals.. and that’s why we love this crazy guy Ludovic!! He is also the main producer behind the promising project Vibe Dealers (with Infant Rec. / 2020 Vision artist Anthony Collins), who both have appearances on labels such as Urban Torque, Drehstrom, Players Paradise, Hypnotic, Robotronic and of course on Criminal! Moodmusic / Television artist DAVE DK delivers his interpretation on side B and gains propably most quality recognition! His remix catches such a minimal, housy, acid-ish vibe! We’re glad to have him on board for this release! Dave will soon release his next ep on Sasse’s imprint Moodmusic, which surely will be another milestone in his career! His latest release “Hypnotize” on Maral Salmassi’s imprint Television Rec. created a nice hype as well.. be sure to look out for this hot artist! strongly recommended by major players such as Funk D’Void, Tiga, Phonique, Steve Lawler etc.

CRIMINAL 005 G.DIGGER&JOHNJON FEAT. MARAL SALMASSI - ALL THE GIRLS http://www.criminal-records.de/?p=7 http://www.criminal-records.de/?p=7#comments Tue, 08 Apr 2008 20:11:09 +0000 admin http://www.criminal-records.de/?p=7 A1 ALL THE GIRLS / GOLDEN DAYS REMIX

A2 ALL THE GIRLS

B1 ALL THE GIRLS / VIBE DEALERS REMIX

After the great success of the last release on Criminal Records by Vibe Dealers, it’s the a&r G.DIGGER himself and half-labelowner johnjon getting ready to drop another fantastic bomb on you!! Their first release “Pulp/Instant” on Criminal caused quite a stir around the jock’s community and gained incredible feedbacks! The new single “All The Girls” features the unique-and-one-and-only Maral Salmassi, who successfully runs the labels Television Rec. and Art Of Perception. Her distinct vocals make this release a one of a kind! Television artists Golden Days deliver an incredible remix which has already been charted 3 weeks at peakposition by Boris Dlugosch! John Aquaviva has been also supporting the mix as well! Along with the original mix, the french gigolos Vibe Dealers have also delivered a stunning remix and again proved their name right! It’s all about the vibes… On A1 Golden Days twist all their knobs until everything is tweaking and seems to be out of control! The beats are programmed in a way that leaves everybody wondering if they just have been banged upside down or from left to right! Either way… headbanging guaranteed! But the big phat ugly mother of this release shows her groovey and dirty face on A2! I don’t know how G.DIGGER and johnjon always deliver such great electro-like tracks.. maybe it’s because they are in love with each other? Or maybe it’s the jealousy they have for one another? Most likely it’s just the understanding of great knowledge that makes the two of them a one of a kind collaboration!! As usual they deliver stacky synths and rare grooves that led to the unique vocals of Maral Salmassi! Damn… how I wish I was part of the making of this track! On the flip it’s the hyped french duo Vibe Dealers, who have come up with a housegroove with deep synths! Watch out for the last third of their interpretation… it’s beautiful.. it’s brilliant… it’s Vibe Dealers!

CRIMINAL 004 VIBEDEALERS - VIBE DILAINE http://www.criminal-records.de/?p=6 http://www.criminal-records.de/?p=6#comments Tue, 08 Apr 2008 20:10:14 +0000 admin http://www.criminal-records.de/?p=6 A VIBE DILAINE

B DEALERS AVENUE

First things first… this release is probably the biggest record on Criminal so far! So it’s no surprise to me that Chloé, Digitalism, Mike Monday, Martin Eyerer & Satoshi Tomiie are playing it!! The 2 so-called-french gigolos Ludovic Vendi & Anthony Collins were probably jacking off to this hot tune a million times… and like Snoop Dogg would say: “This shit is so hot you could burn some serious eggs & bacon on it… no diggity!!“ “Vibe Di Laine“ on side A starts off with this fucking wicked little groove that captures you right away and leads you straight to a rhythm consisting of a warm synthpad and a rather understated bass. The vibey synthpad introduces the first break followed by another more sawy bass line which kicks in with the beat. Another Synth drops in from the top, adding more and more rave-like character to it’s 80’s influenced groove! “Vibe Di Laine” seriously leaves some huge damage after you play it! It’s geniusly arranged and produced with high technical skills! Genuine! “Dealers Avenue” on side B really does it for me! The beat is so damn dry and if you listen to a lot of hip hop like I do, this beat is simply just not phat! But for some reason the whole groove and the vibe make this track so unbelievably sexy and is in my ears the hit on this release! Understatement Iike G.DIGGER would say. Cowbells, tom toms, bleeps left right & center and a phat bass line seem the ingredients to make you feening for more. Clever placed synth hooklines & a chicane-like sound that suddenly drops in after 2 ½ minutes will put a big smile on your face for the next little while! A deep bass melody introduces again such an amazing break building up to a twister that leaves you stranded in Hang Zhaou (somewhere in China, west of Gobi desert). Anyway, I love how the beat drops in again.. it just drops in.. no introduction.. nothing obvious at all.. and that what makes these 2 french guys so hot at the moment! Combining rave character with minimal bleeps!

CRIMINAL 003 JOHNJON&LUDOVIC VENDI - POLARKRASH http://www.criminal-records.de/?p=5 http://www.criminal-records.de/?p=5#comments Tue, 08 Apr 2008 20:08:25 +0000 admin http://www.criminal-records.de/?p=5 A POLARKREIS

B CONNECTION

Oh no.. not again.. another phat one! Sometimes I ask myself: where in god’s sakes do CRIMINAL RECORDS get all this brilliant music from?!? The answer seems to be: FRANCE!! And this time it’s another new artist on the roster of Criminal, who goes by the name of LUDOVIC VENDI. Ludovic is like a french music-gigolo… always penetrating and very dominant! No wonder that he has appearances on Dirt Crew’s label, Fafa Monteco’s label, FJ Fex’s label to name only a few…! But this time he teams up with label-owner Johnjon, who is behind many productions, e.g. Fanclub, which is massively supported by DJ’s like Chloé, Digitalism, DJ Silversurfer, Oliver Koletzki, Christopher Just etc. On side A you’ll find POLARKRASH, which takes you on a nice little hide’n’seek thang! Introducing great drumming and a nice straight bass, the music takes off to a little more harmonic ride. Not obvious, but rather in a clear state of mind, the music accompanies you to a nice break… not one of those “i get a drink - you get naked”-breaks.. more like a “girl, get me a drink - i wanna get naked”-breaks! Really, this track is a peaktime tune and sets the difference between many other tracks out there because it is harmonically brilliant and produced at a very high state. On side B it’s CONNECTION. And the connection between those 2 tracks is obvious: 2 massive basslines!! Johnjon, who is the Head of Basslines, brings you in my ears the mother of all basslines in this tune! Right from the start this groovey track slaps your little ass from one corner to another… and who doesn’t need a little spanking nowadays? Again we have a great break right in the middle and weird synth sounds reach you from the left & right… building a nice comeback of that PHAT BASS when the full beat kicks in again! 80′ies synths and stack sounds go perfect with the rest of the music! I’m sure this release will put another milestone in the history of Criminal Records!
